Mulching of branches is not only the most efficient way of disposing of foliage, it’s also the best way to maintain a clear work space below the tree. Mulch is recycled through a garden supply business or can be left at no charge for our clients.
When it comes to mulching and chipping, here's what sets us apart from the rest:
We are able to feed an entire tree trunk through our chipper in record time with thanks to our rotating grapple arm -- the only one currently operating in Melbourne.
Trees, base-first, must be in fed in a straight line through the chipper.
Where normally other crews with a fixed grapple would need to take great time and effort to align their machinery in order to start feeding the trunk through, we can simply rotate the direction of the trunk itself.
Not only does this save time and labour (and therefore money!) it also saves the ground
underfoot from being chewed up by machinery that is being moved around multiple times to get that perfect position.
Tree Climbing, Trimming and Shaping
Bluey's has vast experience in all aspects of tree climbing, including spurless work to protect trees that are only to be trimmed.
Lifelines to support the climber in the tree are commonly used to allow for better access, comfort, and most of all safety when getting out to the furthermost parts of a tree.
Rigging and lowering of branches safely with the use of pulleys and snatch blocks, rated ropes and friction drums/devices is something that all the crew are familiar with and ensures maximum safety and efficiency.
Our Bandit 2900T 75HP grinder is a large unit that makes quick work of stumps, and it is remote controlled.
Some say that a remote controlled machine seems a little too much like a Playstation, but we reckon it's a great way to keep the operator at a safe and visually advantageous position.
Block Clearing/Forestry Logging/Tree Felling
A good understanding of where a tree is leaning and just how much space it requires to fell it from the ground only comes from years of experience.
With the use of wedges and ropes we commonly fell trees that may be leaning in other directions safely into a clear area to be processed through the chipper or cut for logging.
Some jobs we undertake are better off done with the use of our Biljax Telescopic boom.
Not all trees have appropriate high points for rigging from, or there is simply not enough space directly below to allow for lowering or dropping of tree sections.
With the right machine we can drop branches into clear zones and lift down tree limbs with cranes and place directly onto a waiting truck to protect driveways or other surrounding structures.
Our crane is also available to hire. To enquire, please contact us.
